Maintaining an Ajax Engine
Your car needs to be regularly maintained to stay in good shape. Otherwise, your car will suffer a breakdown when you are on the way to work or are in the middle of a long trip. One of the things you should remember is to take great care of your engine by starting with oil change.
You must change the engine oil, because it does not last forever. Over time, it loses its lubricating properties and carbonizes. Carbon deposits start to accumulate in your engine, shortening its life. They clog up the oil pick-up screen, decreasing oil supply and increasing friction. They also build up inside the throttle body and EGR system.
This is why you have to make sure that you change your oil before your engine reaches the carbonizing stage. Your engine must be clean and replenished with new oil. You must also remember to replace the oil filter whenever you change your oil. However, if you do not remember the last time you changed your oil, you can always check the oil on the dipstick and you can always consult the car manual to check whether you have the correct oil type and engine oil capacity.
Aside from changing the oil of your Kia ajax engine, you should also maintain its cooling system. Otherwise, your car engine will overheat and break down. In order to avoid this engine problem, you should check the coolant level regularly. The level should be at least at the minimum mark in the coolant reservoir. If it is lower than the required mark, then you should add the coolant until it is on level with the maximum mark. You should keep in mind that you must avoid opening the radiator or the coolant overflow reservoir when engine is hot.
If you find that there is a coolant leak in your Kia ajax engine, then you should have it repaired immediately. A professional mechanic will do a thorough inspection to check whether the engine temperature is rising higher than it should be.
